We propose, within a period of four months, to undertake a feasibility study of the central area of Margate.
this study will be both analytical, strategic and exploratory in terms of design.
these notes outline the series of interrelated studies which together will form our work for the Margate Borough Council.
As the list, and the composition of our team indicates, these studies are inter-disciplinary. Our belief however, is that the total study must combine the logic of a serious, procedural investigation by experts with the constant conference of ideas by all members of the team.
Archigram Architects has had much experience of creative work involving such teams.
Our reputation has been largely in the field of new concepts in Urban Design and of Leisure facilities, and we approach the challenge of this study with a firm commitment to fresh but authenticated thinking.
The total Feasibility Study will consist of the following study areas:
1. ECONOMIC, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL SURVEY
2. DEMOGRAPHIC ANALYSIS
3. A STATEMENT OF THE FUTURE
4. AN URBAN MATHEMATICAL MODEL
5. PLANNING PROPOSALS
6. SOCIOLOGICAL STATEMENT
7. ECONOMIC STATEMENT
8. MARINE STUDIES
9. MOVEMENT AND COMMUNICATION
10. THE NON-PHYSICAL FUTURE: PROPOSALS
11. THE PHYSICAL FUTURE: VISUALISATION
